Farther Down the Bank was the result of a collaboration between Dean Sorenson and the University of Dubuque Jazz Ensemble. The project took place January - April of 2021. A recording of the piece is available below.
In addition to the score, I also created practice tracks for each part, including an accompaniment track that could be used to practice improvising solos. All of this was customized for the UD Jazz Ensemble instrumentation.

Commission Project 2021 - 2022
• Commission a new piece for your jazz ensemble or concert band! This new work will be specific to you and custom scored for the instruments and players you have available.
• Includes regular scheduled online visits with Dean as the work is being created. Students learn about the creative process and get a unique "How It's Made" perspective.
• All drafts as well as the completed work may be recorded remotely via Soundtrap. All students may participate in the recording process.
• The completed work may be recorded remotely, performed live -- OR BOTH!

Meeting 1: Initial meeting to discuss ideas and establish parameters for the composition.

Costs and Fees
Commission Fee: $4000.00 (US). This fee includes:
• All online visits described in Timeline above.
• Full score and all parts for agreed upon instrumentation
• Remote recording includes access to project that will be created with the Dean Sorenson Music SoundTrap account
• Final mix of recording, shared via mp3 download from SoundTrap
